Where the Garden Began

IMG_0923.jpg

Once Upon a Garden began with a simple desire to preserve a memory.

In 2022, while researching how to preserve a bouquet of flowers, I happened upon a fallen butterfly. I placed it in my first resin piece without realizing that quiet moment would shape the path ahead.

Over the years, life has taught me that endings and beginnings are never far apart. Every loss carries the possibility of renewal. That belief has become the heart of everything I create.

My butterflies and botanicals are ethically sourced after completing their natural life cycles. I feel incredibly fortunate to work with the creations of mother nature. Each wing, petal, and leaf is entirely its own, shaped by a life and a journey that can never be repeated. Before I create, I pause to admire what already exists. That sense of gratitude is woven into every piece I make.

Creating allows me to share that perspective with others. From my Houston studio, my hope is that each piece serves as a quiet reminder that what is left behind can still carry extraordinary meaning, and that every ending holds the possibility of something beautiful.
